Backup your database

If your database server is running on a remote machine you need to perform a manual backup of the database. If the database server is running on the web server (where you run the Litium Studio Upgrade tool), a backup is created automatically by the upgrade tool and no manual backup of the database is needed.

Backup the Web.Config

You also need to backup the Web.Config files found in the wwwroot directory of your installation. During upgrade the Web.Config files will be overwritten.
