Exporting and importing from Excel
Export and import your products and take advantage of the data management capabilities of Excel.
Exporting products
You can export your products to an XLSX file from several different views under the PRODUCTS and ASSORTMENT sections, as well as from the main view by searching for the products you want to export. The Export button leads to the same function in all views.
To export products to an XLSX file:
- Go to one of the pre-defined lists, or search for the products you want to export on the search page. If you want to export all products, just click Search without entering any search criteria.
- Click Export in the upper right corner. The export page is displayed. At the top of the export page you can see the number of products that will be exported.
- Select the fields you want to export in the Product information to export drop-down list. Article number and VariantOf will always be exported.
- Select which languages you want to export. These settings will only have an impact on the export file if you have selected to export fields that have different languages, for example Name and Description.
- Click Export. The file will be downloaded to your local computer.

Importing products
To import products from an XLSX file:
- Click Imports in the left menu pane.
- Click New in the upper right corner and browse to the file you want to import. The New import page is displayed.
- Map the columns in your Excel file to the corresponding fields in Litium by selecting the field in the drop-down list under Maps to. You can also choose not to import a certain column by selecting Do not import.
Note: If a column heading in your Excel file has the same name as a field in Litium it will be automatically mapped, so make sure that the column in the file you are importing contains correct info for that field in Litium. If you need to unmap an automatically mapped column, you have to change the heading of the column in the Excel so that it is not mapped automatically.
- If you want to maintain the order of the variants from the file you import, select the checkbox Sort variants according to the order set in the Excel file.
- If the file you import contains products that do not exist in Litium, you can select the template to be used for creating them during import in the drop-down list at the bottom.
Note: You can also specify the template directly in the import file in a column called Field template. This enables you to use different templates for new products in the import file. If you choose a template in the drop-down list the same template will be applied to all new products in the import file.
- Click Import. When the import has finished a summary is shown, and you have the option to export products that failed to import to a separate list (Export failed products).
