This section describes how to configure the Accelerators.

Accelerators can be configured through the configuration settings described below. (Detailed descriptions of specific functionality are described in functionality section.)

Navigation settings

Navigation settings are specified in "installningar/navigationsinstallningar" page.

Category based or filter based navigation

Choose between two types of navigation – category based or filter based. This is typically set once in the beginning of a project, since a change will affect the appearance of the whole site.

Show left navigation

Once navigation is set you can also configure when the left navigation should be visible. The purpose of hiding the left navigation is to give possibility to show marketing material such as banners or image carousels in full screen. This setting can be done in:

  • Category page (category level 1)
  • Brand page
  • Product set page
  • Regular page

For an overview of how the navigation settings work have a look at the wire frames for the latest accelerator.

Mega menu

You can fill the mega menu with different kinds of content showing product groups, brands or even filters. Start by creating a Menu link page and select the content you wish:

  • Point to a product group and automatically list all sub product groups
  • Make a selection of mixed content from Product catalog and Web publishing shown as columns choosing from:
  • Product groups
  • Brands
  • A filter for a specific product group
  • Ordinary sub pages

Two types of header

You can choose from two types of header – one row or two rows. This is typically set once in the beginning of a project. Two rows will simply allow more information in the header section, while one row gives a clean, modern look that allows the rest of the page to get more attention.

In this page you also set the additional top links and the logotype.

Footer with sections

The footer has 4 default sections. You use the link list or the editor to set the content.

Sections – working with content

Working with the content of the accelerator is simple and flexible. You can use regular pages to quickly add marketing material. You can also choose to work with section pages to add and edit marketing material in a more powerful way. A section page is a part of the content in a page, thus one page’s content is made up from several section pages. The section pages are placed as subpages to the page, and are convenient since you can add page permissions, time publishing and easily sort the pages. The default startpage of the accelerator is entirely made up from sections, and it is easy to add sections when building inspirational landing pages to highlight and inspire customers. This gives a marketing team powerful tools to work with the customer experience.

Section pages shipped

There are some different section pages shipped which are ready to use. However, this concept can be extended to project specific needs. The shipped page types described below.

Banner sections

The banner section page type has an array of editors which can be used to add images and text. The editors are sortable so that you can order the banners or information blocks as you wish.

Product sections

In the the product section page you can add products by choosing from a product group, a product set, or simply pick some individual products from the assortment of the web site. You can set the number of products shown, between 2-4, and you can select a logic for which products to show by defining whether you want to show the most sold articles, the newest products or simply as they are sorted in the Product catalog. You can also define a ”Show all”-link that redirects to for example the product group from which you selected the products.

Mixed sections

This section is a mix of Banner section and Products section. It shows a row of some products, and a banner placed to the left or right of the products.

Brands sections

A brands section lets you easily show a row of the most important brand logotypes. Each logotype links to a brands page showing both information of the brand and the all products tagged with the brand.

Image carousels

Image carousels have a container page and the images shown in the carousel defined as sub pages. The image carousel can be sorted up and down among the other sections creating lively and inspirational pages.

In Accelerator 4 we have added a new page type called Brand where editors can work with logotype, inspirational photage, content and product listings.

The page has the same flexible content management as the new start page, making it easy to customize and update with content.

Working with each brand as a separate page is also good for SEO and every page can be linked to from the start page brands section.

There are two things that should be noticed when usin the brand page:

  1. The Brand page can only be a subpage to Brandlist page type or it will not work correctly
  2. The Brand page name has to have the exact same name as the brand in the product catalog or products will not be shown.

Error messages

As an administrator you can easily edit the error messages shown to the user if something goes wrong. This gives the merchant a greater way of controlling the communication towards their customers. There is one page to show if the requested URL is not found, and another to catch general unexpected errors.

Use secure connection (SSL/HTTPS)

Litium Studio has built-in support for automatic redirect to secure or non-secure connections for each page type. Simply choose the preferred setting by checking the box “Use secure connection for this page type” when editing the page type in the Control Panel. By default in the Accelerator, the checkout page, login page and My Pages are checked since we recommend using secure connections for pages that might include sensitive data. Using secure connection will mean that you need a certificate installed on your site. Read more about Secure connections and certificates.
